Physical Composition: Adamite is a zinc arsenate hydroxide mineral typically found above zinc ore deposits.  A translucent mineral usually yellow-green in color (due to copper inclusions) it grows in fan/wedge-shaped crystals.  Adamite is usually found in crumbly Limonite matrixes.  Specimens are sought by collectors due to the bright green fluorescence under UV light.  Adamite is mostly found in Mexico and Namibia.  The crystals from the famous mines of Mapimi, Mexico, are known for their brilliant fluorescence.  Zn2(AsO4)(OH) Zinc, Arsenic, Hydrogen, Oxygen.

CAUTION: as a member of the Arsenic group, one should handle with care. Wash hands before eating, and do not ingest.
